Barpet United Tools have been in the business of Welding & Engineering Suppliers since 1980 but now it has been extended to include General Hardware.

John & Dorothy Petran are the proud owners and managers of Barpet United Tools, and like in their marriage, they work together effectively, to provide a smooth, efficient and courteous service to their customers.

Today they are in the business of supplying gas and welding equipment, plus engineering supplies, such as cutting tools, hand tools, abrasives, nuts & bolts, and a selection of protection clothing.

Over the years Barpet has increased its stock range and now has power tools with all the big brand names, such as Makita, Hitachi, Bosch, A.E.G., Dewalt, Milwaukee, etc; together with a large range of hand tools, which include Stanley, Sidchrome, Record, and Kincrome.

Also stocked are P & R, Dorma, and Sutton's cutting tools.

Barpet's management saw a need to form a buying and advertising group, so in 1988 joined with some other businesses, who had owner-managers, and a similar stock range.

Further expansion occurred in 1996 when Barpet joined another group to become United Tools.which enabled this group to offer competitive pricing.
